I only have one request, that you don't take these files and post them on other torrent sites. I have many shows to upload. I will upload, let them get seeded by others and after a majority have downloaded the files completely, remove my files so I can seed something new. I prefer to manage my own shows on DIME and The Traders Den. I will upload to other sites when I wish to for select shows. Thanks for honoring my wishes in advance.

I don't have the time to attach screen shots of each show. It takes enough of our time to put everything together for each release. Most everything has never been released. If you want it, take it, if not, just let it go.

Back in 2000, I got the so called ‘1st gen 8mm analog copies’ of these two pro shot angles of a very special show in NYC in a small club called Irving Plaza where U2 played a live show that was broadcast on the rock radio network live by satellite as it happened. It was a live premiere show in the USA for the ‘All That You Can’t Leave Behind’ album. The story was that Living After Midnight Videos had a source that worked at MTV studios and made copies of these two pro sources that were never used by MTV for broadcast. One angle was in the pit right in front of the band within the barracade and the other was on a tripod at the soundboard that was streight on desd center above the crowd on the floor. Living After Midnight Videos sent the two 8mm tapes to me and I made Digital8mm clones of them using a firewire. From those Digital8mm tapes, I made a mix using my analog MX-Pro mixer "on the fly". Back then, I needed to do the mixes on the fly, making adjustments to the synch of the tapes as the tapes were rolling to keep the mix in synch. There weren't computer programs that let you mix and then encode the DVDs back then. Well, both of the MTV sources had cuts in them at different points in the show. So it made it hard for me to adjust one and the other as the mixing was happening real time on that MX-Pro mixer. I did the best I could with the technology I had at the time. The final mix down had some flaws, but it was still cool.

Fast forward 15 years and with computer based programs, the mixing can be done ahead of time and then the DVD can be produced. So I thought this might be a good way to kick off my two series again. But then I decided to post the NYBG’s Dio show before this one, at his request, because he is the friend that I grew up in this hobby with and the Dio show was really good. This was originally intended as a bonus show (that isn’t part of either master series) at Christmas time last year but both series got postponed until now. Silver Stallion did a very nice mix of the two angles and used the Pre-FM audio source of the show (a source that was sent to radio stations on CD to air a few weeks after the show if the radio station couldn’t air the show live as it happened). The older mix did have soundboard sound that was on the two MTV video tapes, but this Pre-FM audio is better and complete with no cuts. So, this is not part of either CBG master series, but a bonus show and 2015 mix using the latest software. I will be tying up some loose ends for the next 7 weeks and releasing the blu-rays of some shows I already released on DVD but that I never released on Blu-ray because I had issues with getting that equipment working back then. Then it will be on to new releases from that point on. I have a lot of cool shows planned for this year and next year. Especially the ones that were in backlog that were planned for the holidays last year, some great bands and performances. So sit back and enjoy from now on the weekly releases as they come.

This U2 show was real intimate in a very small club called Irving Plaza in NYC. Considering U2 only play arenas and stadiums, this show was a real treat. My highlight of the show was the last song played. They perform the WHO’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ to close the show. It is a real fast paced, flowing version of the classic WHO song. And with the tour kick off tonight in Vancouver, Canada, I thought it would be cool to release this today for that reason. And it is really refreshing to watch a show where the camera angle from the soundboard is not obstructed by a sea of cell phone screens!!! How nice to actually see people put their hands in the air and enjoy the show! This was just 15 years ago! So enjoy the updated mix by Silver Stallion of this great club performance from one of the greatest bands in the world today…U2! CBG5150 Posted to TTD 2015-05-14.
