Grateful Dead 11/06/77
Broome County Arena, Binghamton, NY

BBD> PCM> DAT (Bertrando)> DAT (Agan)> transfer by S. Agan> shn; distinctive in that the St Stephen Reprise track marker placed ~1 min too late; tiny spot of d/n right at the start of Sunrise (before the song)

Lineage: SBD>MR>PCM>DAT>CDRx1>EAC>SHN> cdr> eac> cdr> eac secure> FLAC. All digital conversions from the original PCM.

My DAT came indirectly from Rob Bertrando
so the lineage is pretty much gospel. AFAIK this is the first widely available version
of this show w/ no analog gens. Most (if not all) previously available versions had
cassette gens and/or unnecessary analog D>A A>D conversions between the PCM and the DAT
(MRs for this were not dbx encoded which is the main reason for D>A A>D PCM gens in Betty
Reels).

Disc breakdown...

Disc 1 Set 1 through Dire Wolf
Disc 2 MNS through Good Lovin
Disc 3 St Stephen through Johnny B Goode

Here's a list of anomalies as reported to me. None of these sound digital in nature with
one exception being a tiny hit of d/n at the very start of Sunrise (traced back to my DAT).
This was clipped from some email I received from some folks who are running a big tree of
this show from my seed.

Disc 1
Track 1 1:05; 1:41 pop - Yup, both there - both sound to me to be
stage noises, or PCM, not DIGI POPS
Track 3 5:42; - Again - sounds alot like a stage noise to me - if
they have a problem with something this little, they should stick to
commercial releases

6:59; - ditto (listen at 7:07 too, sounds like a drummer hitting the rim)

8:09 pop

< Skank's note: to me this sounds a little like the noise you get when you plug/unplug
an electric guitar into/out of an amp with the amp turned on, but it's very very faint these
'pops' are definitely in no way digital 'pops' and should not be confused as such>

Track 10 2:41 pop - got it, this is the worst one on disc 1

Disc 2
Track 3 0:04 small hit of d/n. Confirmed on master PCM.

Disc 3
Track 7 2:26 pop - got it, sounds more like the stuff on disc one.

humbly mastered and posted to abgd 11-12/99 by skankweed.
